Traffic on Friday night July 1 and Saturday July 2 will be very heavy, particularly along Sportsman Club Road and New Brooklyn Road, near Woodward Middle School.

On July 2nd, there will be revisions to the normal traffic pattern on Sportsman Club Road. Normally, traffic between Highway 305 and New Brooklyn Road is two way. From 5:00 AM until 3:00 PM on July 2, both lanes are restricted to one way, southbound traffic only.

WHERE TO PARK

Parking on the Woodward Middle School Campus

During Preview Night (July 1) and the Auction & Rummage Sale (July 2), there will be no public parking available on the Woodward Middle School campus, except for three spaces reserved for people who require special needs parking (see below).

Parking on Sportsman Club Road

During Preview Night and the Auction & Rummage Sale, street parking along Sportsman Club Road between Highway 305 and New Brooklyn Road is severely limited. If you park in this area on Friday night to attend Preview Night and intend to leave your vehicle overnight, please be sure your vehicle is parked facing the southbound direction. Remember, Sportsman Club Road will be restricted to one way, southbound traffic only on Auction & Rummage Sale day, July 2.

Also, make sure your vehicle is not in a “No Parking” zone and is 100 percent off the roadway. The police will ticket vehicles violating either of these restrictions.

Parking on New Brooklyn Road

In case of an emergency situation, it is essential that the Bainbridge Island Fire Department have unrestricted access to the Woodward Middle School campus. To ensure this, no parking is allowed along the north side of New Brooklyn Road between Madison Avenue and Sportsman Club Road from 4:00 PM on Friday July 1 until 3:00 PM on Saturday July 2.

Parking in North Town Woods

Parking in the North Town Woods subdivision will be restricted to one side of the street from 4:00 PM on Friday July 1 until 3:00 PM on Saturday July 2.

Parking on Grizdale Lane

No parking will be allowed on either side of Grizdale Lane from 4:00 PM on Friday July 1 until 3:00 PM on Saturday July 2.

Special Needs Parking

A limited number of free Special Needs parking spaces are available at the entrance to North Town Woods off Sportsman Club Road. To obtain one of these spaces, an individual needs to show identification that matches the vehicle’s disabled parking sticker.

There will be three free wheelchair-user only parking spaces inside the south gate entrance to Woodward Middle School on Auction & Rummage Sale day, July 1. To obtain one of these spaces an individual needs to show identification that matches the vehicle’s disabled parking sticker.

As a general rule, the best approach is for a special needs individual to be driven to and dropped off at either the north or south gate entrances to Woodward Middle School by an able-bodied person. The driver can then park at one of the five free Park-and-Ride Facilities (see below). All Park-and-Ride locations are within 1⁄2 mile of Woodward Middle School. The driver has the option of taking a courtesy bus (see below), or walking to and from the school.
