Piece It Together

Please consider donations that meet the following criteria:

  1. $20 and up fair market value
  2. Good condition or better
  3. No rips, stains, odors, or missing/broken parts

We gratefully accept the following items that meet the above criteria:

Sewing machines and cabinets, including antique machines

  • Item should include a sample of recently stitched straight, zig zag, and decorative stitches
  • Pictures must show all accessories (zipper foot, various presser feet and buttonholers), power cord, foot pedal, and instruction books
  • For antique machines, include pictures and description (known history, make and model, and serial numbers) 
  • A picture and description of the cabinet, including size and condition 

Fabric

  • 5-yard+ pieces
  • Collections of smaller but similar weight pieces that total 5 yards or more
  • Pre-cuts, such as jelly rolls, layer cakes, or fat quarter bundles
  • Large cuts of upholstery and drapery fabric (not samples)

Antique quilts, finished or unfinished

  • Item pictures must show entire quilt, front and back
  • Note any rips, stains, or tears (quilts with overall damage will be considered if they can be used as “cutter quilts”)
  • Please include any information known about the quilt:
    • Size
    • Time period
    • Name or relationship of quilter
    • Hand– or machine-pieced or appliquéd
    • Hand– or machine-quilted

Knitting and crochet supplies

  • Full knitting needle or crochet hook sets in cases OR 3+ needles from the same manufacturer (bamboo, wood, or stainless only)
  • Yarn lots (2+ skeins) from the same manufacturer and same or complementary colorways

Weaving supplies

  • Looms: floor, table, tapestry, rigid heddle, knitting sets, etc.
  • Weaving equipment (shuttles, sets of bobbins, etc.)
  • Weaving yarn cones (lots of 16oz or more)

Spinning supplies

  • Spinning wheels or spindles
  • Spinning equipment (carders, combs, distaffs, etc.)
  • Roving, fleece, or other fiber preparations (5 oz. or more)

Hand-knitted items

  • Natural fibers only

Books on knitting, crochet, needlework, weaving, spinning, or other fiber arts

  • Collections of books that are current and in good condition 
  • Books that have value as “collectibles”
